The problem with facebook
First, don't get me wrong. I think Facebook is great. It's the perfect place to get in touch with old friends and to stay in touch with those already close to my heart. BUt it gets a tad scary when I realize people might actually use that as a gauge to understand who I am. Facebook seems to be a network that needs constant policing and updating to keep facts right. I just found out i had somehow joined a group I didn't even know I was in. It was a group called 'A day without gay". It's ridiculous, I have no idea how i joined that group. Am I just outdated? BUt I find it a hassle to keep up with the constant barrage of information. Did I click a button without reading things? Perhaps. Someone who doesn't know me would think me a bigot. Oh well, one can't always put everything on display and make everything crystal clear, but I really got to be a lot more careful with my account. Beyond its usefulness, the intrusiveness of facebook policing can get a tad disturbing.
