My God. I read What's Bred in the Bone by Robertson Davies years ago and thought it funny and charming in a quaint way, I didn't know it then, but I do now, it is brilliant! Nary a dull sentence, I tell you. Every sentence is brimming with life--of the best kind--witty, humorous, just fun fun fun. I'm quite dizzy with excitement. God, if I could write like that. In comparison, my own writing is like watered-down Chinese soup. Tasteless, shapeless and doesn't nourish the brain.
